a good flatiron?

like most naturals, my straightening tools are just as important as my maintenance tools. straightening natural hair can have it’s challenges, but it can also be a breeze. luckily, i’ve passed the “challenging” phase of my hair care routine and it’s all a breeze now, litterally.

one of the things i MUST do is straighten my hair while it’s cool. so i always sit on the floor in front of my mirror with the fan blowing near me. not directly on me, but close enough to keep my scalp dry. i’ll easily sweat out a section i’d just finished if i’m not careful and this leaves me fustrated because i don’t want to have to do the section over again!

i use a sedu as my straightner + heat protectant, which for me is a must. not using a heat protectant gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about it. *shudders*

i’ve had my flatiron since 2005 and it’s still working like new, so i’m tryng to turn off the urge to go out an by another one – something i don’t need.

ceramic and or ionic is the WAY TO GO. anything else, IMO, is just not going to give you that silky hair and safely straightened hair like ceramic and or ionic does.

here are some suggestions for you:

heat protectants (i use the one in the green bottle – Silk Elements Megasilk Olive Heat Protection)

I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny. - Coco Chanel
