ladies, and gents, this gel does a few miracleous things:
- it does NOT FLAKE!!
- smells plesant and not too strong
- did i mention it does not FLAKE??!
- holds for a week
- works WITH products without turning gooey or creamy
- can be rewet to restyle your hair
of course my run in with the gel was by accident; such is the story of my life, but anyway. i saw it in sally’s after seeing a review of it on youtube.
i gave the review the side eye because the chick doing the review, although she had hair like mine, said it didn’t flake.
*hump* how many times have we heard, “girl, get that xxx it does/not xxx!” and then you buy it an it’s a dud. i have my back up gels (which i will be reviewing also) but this one my ladies, my curly, kinky, coily, ladies is the truf.
i use it by wettining my hair, putting on some detangeler and adding a touch on top. now, i have to clarify that i have both the crystal and pink gel. i have not tried the olive oil (pictured – and hence the pretty green color), though as far as hold goes, it’s a 10, as is the clear gel (aka crystal) and it’s too strong for me because i like a softer curl.
the pink gel is a 6 (the hold scale is “soft – 2/4/6/8/10 – max”) and it’s just right for me. i can’t do crunchy hair. crunch ‘n munch? yeah, i can do that. crunchy hair? not so much. but you have to play around with the one you may like because i have friends who love the 10 hold. either way, you can’t go wrong.
the best part about this gel? super cheap. i’m talking buy with the loose change at the bottom of your suitcase-sized purse cheap. you hear me?! lawd, i’m excited just writing about this stuff. if you click on the picture above, you can gt 32oz for less than 3 dollars!! $3.00. what’s that? like, a hamburger, vanilla frosty and small fry off of the wendy’s dollar menu?

I Looooooooooooove this stuff. It has to be on of my staples at this point. I started using it like 2-3 months ago and i will Not be looking back lol. I use both the Olive Oil one and the new Moroccan Argan Oil one. They are both level 10 hold and smell great. Now i will say when used alone it DOES give me a little “dust” but it’s easily taken care of with my other staple, Organic Coconut Oil.
I agree a 110% this gel is so great, it not only holds my hair perfectly. It refuses to flake, my twist out is loving it!!!
I ditto the above!!! I use the Olive Oil type. My hair holds nicely for up to three days and is unbelievably shiny. Eco Styler is great for those low maintenance days.
I think my favorite one is the Olive Oil one. Initially upon going natural i was faithful the the brown puddin one but it built up and created this brown stuff after a while. Im always afraid of pink and blue funny color type gels, reminds me of the hispanic girls with the cruncy hair in my junior hs ( no shade). But to limit the (10) hold i apply castor oil or olive oil under before applying the gel that way my hair isn’t crunchy and it looks FRESH all week!
OMG! Eco-Styler gel is the shizz!! I love love love love it…Did you get that I LOVE it..? I personally use the Eco-Styler Olive Oil version, & the way the gel mingles with my curls is magical. When I’m done using the gel in my hair, If I look closely, I can actually see my hair smiling at me. I too, was skeptical when I heard that it didn’t flake from a girl I ran in to on the streets , I was like “who is this gurl tryna fool, i ain’t stupid all dem gels flake” -[in my ghetto girl, while smacking hard on some gum voice, lol], but I dragged my arse to Sally’s, spent my $3 and some change, & we’ve been together ever since.
