(5/5)

i’ve had my bottle of silk elements megasilk olive heat protection spray for a couple of years and am just now starting to notice that the bottle is running out. i press my hair on average up to 2-3 times a year so my bottle does not get much use.

i use my heat protection spray in conjunction with my sedu and my presses come out banging. no heat damage and no sticky hair; just hair that has swang for days.

ingredients:

CYCLOPENTASILOXANE ,NEOPENTYL GLYCOL DIETHYLHEXANOATE ,DIISOPROPYL ADIPATE, DIISOPROPYL SEBACATE ,ETHYL ESTER OF HYDROLYZED SILK ,TOCOPHERYL ACETATE ,OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL ,FRAGRANCE ,ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE

description:

Formulated with Olive Oil and Silk Protein
Helps protect from heat damage
Use with flat irons, blow dryers or any heat styling tool
Provides a luxurious shine

Silk Elements Megasilk Olive Heat Protection Spray is formulated with Olive Oil and Silk Protein, helps protect the hair from damage caused by heated appliances. Leaves hair soft and silky while providing a luxurious shine.

the mist comes out very lightly and it’s not greasy. on the hair it seems greasy but once you pass your iron over the section you are pressing, all you are left with is soft bouncy hair.

i like the smell – it’s pleasant – not yummi (but that’s just a personal preference – i like my hair products to smell yummi) and i like the consistency of the product. the spray makes it easy to apply evenly over your hair and this heat protectant done it’s job to protect my hair from heat damage.

on my 4b sections i set my sedu to 410 and i’ve had no problems with damage.

one of the other things i really, really, like about this spray is that you can almost not use TOO much. the spray is so light and misty that even if you are heavy handed, you really don’t have to worry about over doing it.

i give my 1 inch sections about 4 pumps — one on each side at the top and bottom of the section and then rub it in to make sure it’s well coated — and i’ve never experienced anything but lightly pressed hair that blows in the wind.

i like this heat protectant a lot. i’ve only used the olive oil spray, but it also comes in a “regular” formula without the olive oil.

what say you? do you like the silk elements megasilk heat protection spray? [ratings]
