if you like to mix it up in the kitchen – for hair products that is – or want to give it a go at trying your hand at making “something” for your hair, the easiest way to go about getting your natural mixology certificate is making a homemade moisturizing hair spritz.
not only are they easy to make, they are a cheaper alternative to purchasing name brand products. you can save 100s of dollars by making your own as the ingredients only run 2-5 dollars a pop. most of the best selling natural spritz mixes on the market are made from these same ingredients!
BASE:
4-8 oz of rose water, 1/3 cup aloe vera gel, 1/3 cup vegetable glycerin (you can adjust your aloe and glycerin as needed) and a few drops of rosemary essential oil.

you can also change out the essential oil or add additional oils to suit your tastes. for example you could also add olive oil, peppermint oil, and tea tree oil (tea tree is good for those battling dandruff).
this hair spritz is sure to please – especially type 4s with very coarse hair. with consistent use, it makes your hair very, very soft. just add all of the ingredients to a bottle and shake well. that’s it. no blending or anything else needed!
store your spritz in spray bottles for easy application. you can get these erico little gem spray bottles from sallys.
do you make your own hair spritz? if so, please share your recipe.

My recipe is
8 oz. aloe vera juice
2 ounces of Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose conditioner
14 essential oils (Including tea tree and rosemary as preservatives)
1 oz. liquid MSM
few drops of ROE as a preservative (ROE = Rosemary oil extract. Not to be confused with rosemary e/o–that’s used as one of the 14 essential oils.)
1 oz. fractionated coconut oil
1/2 oz. of oil of choice
In warm weather, I’ll add glycerin
1/2 tablespoon of grapefruit seed extract as a preservative
