constance jablonski by greg kadel for numéro #117.
wells, i’m trying to find the words to name this editorial but they are escaping me. “white? mama and black baby on wheat.” no, that does not sound good on the tounge and makes you think of a sandwich. but that’s all i got for now.
constance is a “black” mom, playing with her black baby, in a field of wheat. how original, but i guess cotton plants would have been too tough for that poor baby’s feet. [click to continue…]

it’s not surprising to hear that some women with very kinky and coarse hair secretly covet curls. i don’t judge. it’s not my place to. and how can i, because there was one time when i wanted curly hair. surprised? don’t be, for this is a quite common feeling if even fleeting among many kinky haired naturals. for instance, i know someone who won’t leave the house without ten pounds of eco styler, 2 hours of shingling and 5 hail marys before she walks out the door.

my mom would [click to continue…]

i’ve had my bottle of devacare arc angel since summer 2009 and it’s still 3/4ths full.
i like this product, though i don’t use it very often. i’m not really a gel girl. it works just like any other gel except, don’t have any activator gels or eco styler in mind. no, this gel is not that heavy, it’s very light and won’t leave your hair crunchy.
