i figured out a long time ago that i was NOT going to be sitting at home under a hard hat dryer or saving deep conditioning for late nights or long weekend days. nuh uh, my life is way too busy for that! so i figured it out quickly that a plastic cap + some deep conditioner + a head wrap = continue on with my day and take care of my natural hair at the same time!
day deep conditioning is soooo easy to do. you just wrap your hair and go on about your business.
a couple months ago, i ran into nikole (@moptopmaven) and lo (@loricotton) and they gave me compliments on my head wrap. i let them in on my secret – i was deep conditioning my hair!
if you ever see me out and about with my hair wrapped, it’s highly likely i’m deep conditioning my hair, just like rinny (in photo above) is doing.
so what is a good day time deep conditioner? i personally like to wet my hair and apply extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil and aubrey organics white camellia conditioner or honey suckle rose.
while you are running around or working or attending classes in all of your fabulousness, because you are fabulous, you can deep condition and take care of your hair at the same time. the heat from your activities will get the conditioner to working. so kinky girls like us take it up a notch and can sidestep a hard hat dryer.
don’t worry if you want to pick up a pashmina to wrap your hair – actually that’s all i ever use most of the time – all you need to do is just tuck in the ends to hide them.
just be sure to pick a fashionable scarf. you don’t want to channel aunt jemima! and i don’t suggest you do this more than or twice a month, and for only a few hours a day because you don’t want over conditioned, limp hair.
