this review has been a long time coming and to be honest, i don’t know why i didn’t do it sooner since i’ve been using knot today since 2008!

a couple of days ago, i found myself at whole foods looking for a replacement bottle when i realized they were sold out! a true nightmare, because i absolutely love this stuff and i don’t mind spendng the $12 to buy it. i love that knot today is an all in one detangler, leave-in and conditioner and i love that it works for my kinky and coarse hair texture.

Product Description:
KNOT TODAY is a creamy herbal conditioner and detangler designed to smooth the cuticle and remove knots, snarls and tangles from thick curly textured hair.
After washing hair, apply KNOT TODAY TM generously and work through troubled areas with a wide tooth comb. Can be used as a regular rinse out conditioner for wavy hair or as a leave-in for thicker curlier hair types. An excellent product to use after removing braids and extensions.

TIP
When using this product as a leave-in, apply in the shower and rinse with a little water to evenly distribute the conditioner.

Ingredients:
Mango fuit extract, slipper elm, marshmallow root, lemongrass, cetyl alcohol, behentrimonium methosulfate, citric acid, phenoxyethanol and natural fragrance

after washing my hair, i apply knot today on my soaking wet hair while i’m still in the shower. i’ve found that it works much better when my hair is soaking wet because it does exactly what it says it will do – smooth your cuticle. after using knot today my hair is soft and places where i have curls have pretty ringlets and in places where i have more kinks are soft and luscious cotton-like kinks.

this product does not moisturize my hair, BUT it does help to seal moisture in, why i like to use it on soaking wet hair, without my hair feeling super heavy and weighed down.

smell: nice, kinda like cherries. but very, very subtle.
texture: hard to explain, it’s not a gel and it’s not a conditioner texture – almost like a mix of the two. it’s definatly unique.
price: about $12 and it’s worth it, trust me.
pros: works on kinky hair and does what it says it will do. also can be stretched out to last longer and works well with other products and won’t curdle up on you. see how to stretch out knot today
cons: i really can’t think of any except i wish it were cheaper. seriously, no complaints!
tips: knot today plus your jilbere shower comb = detangling HEAVEN!

what say you? are you a kinky curly knot today leave-in detangler fan?

Hello Kurly Bella:

I missed the handbag giveaway contest, but I still wanted to offer my two cents. The site is great! I especially like the interviews with the 4B’s. More, please! One thing I’d like to suggest, though, is to be able to enlarge the thumbnail pics on the homepage. I often see a cute hairstyle, and I try to double click it to make it larger, but I get a page saying it’s no longer available. Other than that, keep up the good work.

I’ve been a hairdresser for 17 years and I have naturally curly hair – the Shielo Antioxidant Leave-In Protector works for me – its amazing.

Wash, towel dry, spray it in and go. No frizz, curls are soft & bouncy, amazing! However, I use about a bottle a week! I need it in bigger bottles!!
