don’t talk about me, but i just started using shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie back in november of last year. can you say late to the party?

i don’t live in the most diverse part of la so much to my dismay, shea moisture just came to my local target recently – as in this month. okay, yeah i could have ordered online, but i didn’t. instead, i used shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie for the first time when i went to visit my family at thanksgiving and took a scoop from my sister’s jar. it was love at first application and it’s back to being love again! AMAZING STUFF!

ingredients:

Contains de-ionized water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter)*, Macadamia Ternifolia seed oil, Mangifera Indica (mango) seed butter*, Persea Gratissima (avocado) oil, Cocos Nucifera (coconut) oil*, Aloe Barbadensis leaf extract, silk protein, Melia Azadirachta (Neem) seed oil, Daucus Carota Sativa (carrot) seed oil, Caprylyl glycol, Sorbitol Esters, essential oil blend, Lonicera Caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower and Lonicera Japonica (Japanese honeysuckle) flower extract and Tocopherol (vitamin E).

the ingredients alone should make you get in the car or head online to order this stuff. hands down, this hair butter is one of the best purchases you can buy from a drug store or target. the ingredients are all organic and kinky curly girl friendly and if you have coarse hair strands in addition to your kinks and curls – whooo honti! watch out because this stuff takes your hair to butter soft land.

how i use it:

after washing my hair and adding my leave-in conditioner to my sections (i always wash my hair in sections) i apply an ample amount to each section of hair that’s still soaking wet – i’ve found that this product works best for me while my hair is still really wet out of the shower (i don’t use a towel on my hair when i finish washing it, i just squeeze it with my hands) – and proceed to braid each section up. in the morning, i take my braids down – which are now buttery soft, including the roots at the top of my head which is where my hair is the most coarse, and fluff and go. let me tell you, i have BANGING hair. shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie coupled with my new favorite leave-in that i keep telling you all about (read about my fave leave-in here and my recipe) makes for boss 1st day hair and off the charts 3rd day hair. i’ve never had any products work on my hair like this.

if your hair easily gets oily easily then this may not be the product for you, but if you need help with keeping water and moisture in your hair, get yourself a jar – NOW.

i.love.this.stuff. i really do and i’ve used it enough times to know that the formula is consistent and works wonders on my hair. i just love this stuff! if they stopped making it, i might just nut up.

what say you? are you a shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie fan? how do you use this product on your hair and what is your hair texture? do we like?

I just big chopped today, my hair is cut in a ceasar,… I think… lol, but I have 4c
hair (not my 1st time going natural) that is usually very dry, thick and coarse… I don’t have much of a curl pattern, but this product works very well for moisturizing… and the smell is amazing… i applied some first thing this morning, and in preparing for bed, i felt no need to go reapply.

Hello ladies!!!!

I brought all the Shea Moisture products for my 4D (I mean 4C) hair it works wonderful for me. I never had anything moisture my hair like that in the last 7 months of having natural hair.

I used the smoothie as a moisturizer (it’s not curling/defining my hair), BUT……….

I tried the gel, the first night with some Eco Olive Oil Gel, then the second night with more Eco Olive Gel with just a spoon full (more as I needed it) of the Shea Moisture Gel, and my have was BEAUTIFUL!!!!! The Eco gel defined my curls and the Shea Moisture Gel gave me great sheen and softness.

Ok it’s a little messy getting it on but who cares. I’m really happy

I agree, I recently tried it about a month ago after having suceess with other Shea Moisture products. My hair is soooooooooo dry and this really helped. It keeps my hair soooooo soft. I just bought a refill a few days ago and now I’m hooked on Shea Moisture.

I just found out about this product from another natural friend of mine while I was on R&R and let me tell you this is the truth I use many natural hair care prouducts, and this one one is affordable for any budget and it is great on my hair type I have thick curly coarse hair and I didn’t think it could get as soft as it did I was surprised but in a good way. Being in the military I can only have a little freedom with my hair and when I do I like to be able to feel my hair, and see all that it can do.

I started using this product when I first went natural almost a year ago. Then I stopped. But now that it’s winter I started using this product again and let me tell you, it works wonders.
