“Since we are talking about hair smells and hair products, I would like to know what products you use for pressing your hair that smell the best. I love that sugar hair spray recommendation and use that sometimes (thank you), so I was hoping you could lead me in the best direction for a good smelling heat protectant that does not cost a lot.” – Aniyah (not pictured)
yes, good smelling hair is important. and often the biggest goliath to fight when seeking out soothing hair aromas is heat. heat will literally burn the smell out of your hair even if your hair is not burned. it’s just that whole cooking thing that you have to get around.
but, since we know that and you are looking for something good smelling that you can pick up today even if you wanted to, then i think sticking with the classic smell that many men love and can almost recount by name is your best bet so i recommend - herbal essence. you can try their “set me up” heat protection spray. it’s only five bucks and you can get it almost anywhere.
with a soft “lilly bliss” scent, it can leave behind a soft feminine fragrance that won’t overpower. there are many more i could recommend, but this is one of the first ones that comes to mind that is easier to pick up even while shopping for milk, eggs and cheese. and here’s a tip, to make it more effective as far as heat smell masking goes, use it before blow drying and AGAIN before flat ironing.
What say you ladies? What’s your favorite smelling, affordable heat protectant?

I just bought Blow Dry Addict from Sally’s. It’s a creme that you have to apply when wet, so I may take it back! I have John Frieda’s Frizzease Hair Serum, and it works great!
I just bought this and will try it out tonight I LOVE the way it smells though. I wish they had a matching body spray that was nice and light as well.
I recommend Beyond the Zone “Turn Up the Heat” heat protectant. I believe it’s only sold at Sally Beauty.
