natural hair game changers: what products lines are shutting it down?

in PRODUCTS + REVIEWS

with all the hype about natural hair and curls and curly girls, hair care companies are jumping on the curly hair train by the dozens. every time i open my inbox i’m face to face with another email from either a new, up and coming start up or an established company that has now gone the natural route. it’s business and it’s big.

i’ve tried so many products that i’ve lost count. part of that is my job as a blogger because i need to give you guys as much product information as i can. of course what works for me may not work for you but it’s a start at getting familiar with a product.

when i peak into my hair product stash, i notice a couple of things right away. firstly, there is that stash in the back that never gets used anymore. they are the “products under the stairs” i guess you could say. long forgotten and really, if they disappeared, i wouldn’t even notice. then there is that stash that lives in the middle – all of those products and tools that get used a couple times a year – foaming wrap lotion, mousse and flexi rod contraptions that come out with i get that itch to try something new with my hair and usually end up with a big fat #fail. and lastly there are the golden children – the products that are front and center. undeniably favorable in appearance: labels worn, half empty bottles and jars that are replaced constantly. these are my game changers; the products that i’d swap cigarettes and phone calls for – you know if i was a prisoner or something. if they went away i’d be a little more than pissed. my most recent game changer is that qhemets biologics burdock root butter cream. i’m starting to think holy grail list with this stuff. it’s killing the competition like crazy as far as a hair butter goes. it have perfect hair every time i use this stuff. every.single.time. (i hope i didn’t just jinx myself!)

i’ve tried a lot of products. some were good and others were bad. some were mediocre and others totally forgetful. and then there are those that put a pause in my step because they are bringing something different to the table and make me come back for more constantly. they are my natural hair game changers.

What say you? What products do you use on your natural hair that are shutting the competition down and gives you almost perfect hair every time? What is your natural hair game changer?

You’e so right about Qhemet-that line has seriously cured my rampant product
junkie-ism and seriously…perfect.hair. every.time. Totally transformed my coarse, low porosity havin’ hair, it’s crazy soft, stays moisturized for days and if that wasn’t enough reason to use, it’s all natural. The only products so far to hit every box on my
must-have checklist.

there was a shampoo by African Bontanticlas (think that’s the right name) that smelled like peppermint and tingled. It worked wonders. I was soo sad when they discontinued it.

My game changer was Cantu Shea Butter Leave in conditioner. I LOVE this product. I do believe I would probably drop down and ball on the floor of Walgreen’s (how dramatic lol) if they stop making it
