I WANT HER HAIR!

if you follow ambrosia on twitter or instagram, then you know she kills it with her hair shots. i love to see her updates come through my feed so i can check out what she has in store for new styles. since i’m currently going through a mini phase of boredom with my natural hair – i just want to mix it up some and not sure what i want to do just yet, i was inspired when i saw her photos and tutorial on her diy senegalese twists.

if you’ve not bookmarked naptural’s channel yet, i have no idea what you are waiting for. her natural hair channel is sharp, clean and to the point, just the way i like it. no unnecessary conversations about things that are not interesting, no waiting six minutes before the hair tutorial even starts, it’s just wam, bam, thank you ma’am because sometimes a quickie hairstyle is what we all need. coils are adorable on little kids and turn out very sexy on women. i’ve always wanted to try this style but i was afraid. afraid of the detangling that you’ll have to go through when you were ready to take them out. right now, as i look at charjay’s pretty hair and wonder if this is a new style i should try, i’m inspired by how perfect this hair style is for spring. whenever you see naturals rocking coils, their hair is always full of shine and luster and their hair has a vibrant bounce to it that’s more than perfect for the spring.
charjay shows us how doing coils can be easy peasy, so if you are like me and a bit intimidated by hairstyles that look intricate then make sure you watch the video below because she show’s you [click to continue…]

many times, when naturals are in that in between phase between twa [teenie weenie afro] and baa [big ass afro] they find themselves stumped at what to do with their hair. it’s too short for a puff and too long for a wash and go because it’s at that stage where it needs to be braided, bantued or…something.
enter carmen of my natural sistas (make sure you subscribe to their channel on youtube!) showing you just how to give your short afro some pizazz without a lot of muss in this quick video tutorial below. [click to continue…]

if you are anything like me, you love flat twists but when it comes to doing them on yourself, houston we have a problem. because my hair is not naturally thick, my flat twists, or any twists for that matter, fall, well, flat. it’s a no bueno for me, but after seeing sugar do this darling flat twist style, i think i can wing that. if you want to get this style, watch her quick tutorial below and make note of some of my own tips for making this work on natural hair that is not as thick as sugar’s mane. well look who’s back to curly! after rocking her hair in a pretty and sleek pressed out style, ariella is back with her curly hair swag in a too adorable modern pin up. ok, maybe i’m a little biased because i love to pin my hair up, but i think this style is too cute and i love how she put a spin on it with a bow. i wear my hair tied often in what i call a “mini mouse” style and this style is very similar and just as feminine.
