so the fda has given brazilian treatments the side eye and i for once am in agreement with them. any hair process that shares high potency ingredients that would give mortuaries a run for their money is a bit on the sketchy side for me. when you go in to get the treatment there has to be tons of ventilation and fans and the hair stylist must wear gloves and a mask. the scene is straight out of the movie outbreak and it’s no wonder people don’t feel like they are sitting in the middle of a science lab.

recently our girl lauryn graced the stage a week after giving birth with some boss plum raisin lips and a even bossier blow out. doesn’t she look so pretty? there is something about a blow out and swanging hair that does something for the soul of a kinky or curly girl especially if you have not seen your hair straight in a while.
blowing out my hair is not something i do unless i’m pressing my hair which this year i have not done yet, however i decided to try something new and do a blow dry braid out. insta hair love! i realllyyyyy like blowing out my hair and so far this year, i’ve done it twice already. i cant’ get addicted though because i know a lot of heat is not good for my hair.

african export is one of my fave youtubers. i love her realistic/around the way approach to hair. if she knows something she shares it and if she doesn’t she says she does not.
recently she straightened her hair and has been playing with styles to get the most out of her blow dried tresses. going back to what you know works even while you have straight hair – braid outs – equals lots of body and lots of style. [click to continue…]
loving this hair people!

can we please talk about how fab this chick’s hair is??!!
can we please have this conversation, people?!
i know i cannot be the only natural who salivates at the site of her luscious locs!
this hairstyle is a must cop for naturals everywhere. it’s sooo big and pretty, and puts you in the mind of a tamer diana ross hairstyle. more modern and less, vogue and 60′s-ish; not that there is anything wrong with the 60′s.
if you have 3c hair or a looser 4a curl, you can easily do this hair with a twist-n-curl style, being sure to use bigger twist sections as this is not tightly curled hair but not too loose either. curly nikki has a great tutorial on how to do a twist and curl.
for those with more coarse 4a-4b hair, you will need to elongate the hair first, twist and then put rollers on the end since your battle with maintaining this style will be the shrinkage monster.
you can also go the weave or wig route.
