recently i ran across this picture of our favorite pixie cut, oscar winning, hollywood mommy that is halle berry and i fell in love with her fly casual look. i’m pretty sure that her jacket alone costs a grip, but with the help of the fashionable, on-trend pieces from kmart, i was able to recreate her look with ease. pairing some skinny jeans with a runway inspired asymmetrical front cropped jacket (love this and the price is the deal!) with those black patent strappy sandals is giving me life! peep the high back that also has a back zipper on the sandals that will wrap around your ankle bringing all attention to your feet – shoe game proper!

when i got word that i could partner up with one of my favorite stores to bring you fashion ideas i was estacic. we are talking an american 80′s classic here people! i remember going to kmart with my mom as a kid to pick up my school supplies and clothes as well. i’d also get a toy for good measure if i was good. fast forward to high school and college and i still shopped at kmart and even today, i stop at my local kmart (which is 5.3 miles away. yes, i know how far away my kmart is, don’t judge me) to pickup makeup, intimates and clothing too and that’s because i know i can walk out with pieces that will work with my evolving style – i started with lacey pink socks at six years old and now i’m at joe boxer undies – whether i’m dressing my gritty or glamorous side. it’s just a win-win all around!

you don’t have to spend a lot of money on pieces to feel like your wardrobe is an extension of your kinky, curly, fly self. and simply, it boils down to the fact that dropping a ton of cash on a trend isn’t an automatic to cool. style is a cocktail. part confidence. part creativity. part risk. when you got it, you got it. and that’s why others want it. because money can’t buy style.
