, i spotted this haute natural hair style on a fave youtuber of mine, msvaugh. this style reminded me of the style that taren did called “side ways curls” that i also featured – actually this hairstyle is the same except this is how you would get this style on coarse and kinky hair that’s not naturally as curly as taren’s hair. i know i cannot be the only natural who salivates at the site of her luscious locs!
this hairstyle is a must cop for naturals everywhere. it’s sooo big and pretty, and puts you in the mind of a tamer diana ross hairstyle. more modern and less, vogue and 60′s-ish; not that there is anything wrong with the 60′s.
if you have 3c hair or a looser 4a curl, you can easily do this hair with a twist-n-curl style, being sure to use bigger twist sections as this is not tightly curled hair but not too loose either. curly nikki has a great tutorial on how to do a twist and curl.
for those with more coarse 4a-4b hair, you will need to elongate the hair first, twist and then put rollers on the end since your battle with maintaining this style will be the shrinkage monster.
you can also go the weave or wig route.
this tight twistout happened only by chance but now i know how to recreate it so i want to share it with you too!
when i’d finished unraveling my hair, i realized that it was very similar to corinne’s hair, and everyone kept telling me that as well!
